When you inhale, do you get shorter or taller? After trying that, you'll notice that you get taller.  Why? Well, when you inhale, your erector muscles of the spine fire naturally.  If you are not inhaling to your fullest potential, you could be stuck in a "flexed" spine. Being stuck in that position leaves you no choice but to have a forward head posture, rounded shoulders, and displaced pelvis.  This leads to pain and discomfort.  Using the nose to inhale allows for a parasympathetic nervous system response and allows for full lung capacity use.  Using all of your lung capacity will elicit lower breath cycles per minute due to the high oxygenation.  Learn more about this with us in any of our private classes or one on one sessions.  Breathing is the top of the list of important things to master and we do not move forward without this mastery.
